Navratri Day 9: Date, Colour, Maa Siddhidatri Worship Method, Mantra, Auspicious Time and Significance

The ninth day of Navratri i.e. Maha Navami is dedicated to Goddess Siddhidatri, the ninth form of Goddess Durga. It is believed that Goddess Durga killed the demon Mahishasura on this day and hence she is also called Mahishasurmardini. Goddess Siddhidatri is depicted as one of the most glorified women of Navadurga, dressed in a red sari and riding on a lion. She holds a lotus, a conch shell, a chakra and a sandbag in her four hands. Siddhidatri is a combination of two words Siddhi and Datri which means one who bestows supernatural power.

Navratri 2021: Maa Siddhidatri Puja Day and Time

Navami Tithi will start on 13th October at 08:07 PM and will end on 14th October at 06:52 PM. Abhijeet Muhurta will be effective from 11:44 AM to 12:30 PM, however, Vijay Muhurta from 02:02 PM to 02:48 PM. Both the Muhurtas are equally auspicious for performing Mahanavami Puja.

Goddess Siddhidatri is the source of all siddhis and holds all the 8 Ashtasiddhis. Worshiping Maa Siddhidatri stimulates the Sahasrara Chakra which is also known as the Crown Chakra of the body. It is believed that Maa Siddhidatri bestows good fortune on her devotees and grants them salvation.
