NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant said projects have been identified to monetize assets in the next four years.

National Monetization Pipeline launched The government on Monday announced a Rs 6 lakh crore national monetization pipeline to monetize infrastructure assets in the rail to road power sectors.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that only underutilized assets will be monetised, ownership will remain with the government.

Sitharaman said at the scheme launch event in New Delhi, “By bringing private participation, we are going to better monetize it (assets) and whatever resources you get from monetization, you are able to invest more in building infrastructure. ” Delhi.

“The ownership of the property remains with the government. There will be a mandatory hand back. They (private sector partners) will have to give it back after a certain time,” the finance minister said.

NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant said projects have been identified to monetize assets in the next four years.

“We are fully committed to making the National Monetization Pipeline a success. We feel it is very important to bring in the private sector for better operation and maintenance, so we are committed to a very strong delivery on the ground,” he added.
