National Digital Health Mission (NDHM) is now being renamed as PM Digital Health Mission. Not only this, along with a 14-digit unique health ID number, an ID can also be created like an email. On this you will have complete information about your health. An email id will be created in your name. It will be called PHR (Personal Health Record) address. You can set its password yourself.

You will also be able to view your complete health record by email address and password. Anyone can create their PHR ID by visiting healthid.ndhm.gov.in. An official of the National Health Authority said that there will be a data entry operator at the registration counter of every hospital to get the card made. NDHM will be installed in the internal IT system of the hospital.

When a patient reaches the hospital for treatment, his/her health ID card will be generated. After this, when the patient reaches the doctor, the patient will have to give a 14-digit health ID number. OTP received on mobile will have to be told. Then after seeing the patient, whatever medicine or test will be written by the doctor, it will be uploaded in the health card. If any test is to be done and the patient goes to the lab registered with NDHM to get the test done, then he will have to tell the health ID number and OTP there too.

After the investigation, the report will also be uploaded in the health card. After this, doctors can see the report on the online portal itself. The advantage of this would be that the patient would not have to carry the test files. Even his medical history will be opened in one click. This will make it easier to get better treatment.

Work has started in the pilot project union territories
This scheme has been started as a pilot project in Union Territories like Andaman Nicobar, Chandigarh, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Damandiv, Ladakh and Lakshadweep. Here in some places, doctors themselves took the help of data entry operators for this in some hospitals. The NHA official said that whether doctors or other health workers will upload the patient’s health record in the card, it will have to be decided by the hospital.
