National Film Awards 2021: Kangana Ranaut, Manoj Bajpayee, Dhanush Receive Top Honors

The 67th National Film Awards Award Ceremony took place on Monday, 25 October. The presentation ceremony of the National Film Awards was held at Vigyan, Delhi and Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu presented the awards to the winners. The top award winners include Kangana Ranaut, Dhanush and Manoj Bajpayee.

Kangana, who won her fourth National Award, was honored with the Best Actress award for her performances in Manikarnika: Queen of Jhansi and Panga. Dressed in a traditional saree, the actress looked gorgeous as she took to the stage and received her award.

She had previously won Supporting Actress for her role in Fashion and Best Actress for Queen and Tanu Weds Manu Returns.

While Kangana won the Best Actress award for “Manikarnika” and “Panga”. Dhanush and Manoj Bajpayee received the Best Actor award for “Asuran” and “Bhonsle” respectively.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth was honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his contribution to Indian cinema. Rajinikanth got a standing ovation on being honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.

The 67th National Film Awards were announced in March this year. They honored the best in cinema in 2019, and were due to take place last year, but were postponed due to the pandemic. The jury selected from 461 films in the feature category and 220 films in the shorts category.

Meanwhile, filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari missed the presence of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput at the presentation ceremony of the 67th National Film Awards in the capital today. Sushant’s last big screen film Chhichhore, directed by Tiwari and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, won the Best Hindi Film award. Tiwari and Nadiadwala attended the event.
