NASA Releases Closest, Most Pictures Of Jupiter Taken By Juno

NASA’s Juno mission has returned incredible photographs of Jupiter that resemble abstract watercolor paintings. On Monday, NASA released spectacular new Juno pictures of strong storms near Jupiter. The spacecraft captured this photograph 14,600 miles (23,500 kilometers) above the planet’s cloud tops.

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration said on Instagram that the Juno spacecraft captured the image during its 24th flyby of Jupiter over the planets in July 2019.

The space agency stated that our Juno spacecraft caught storms in Jupiter’s northern hemisphere during its 24th close approach of the gas giant in 2019. The spacecraft captured this photograph 14,600 miles (23,500 kilometers) above the planet’s cloud tops.

Juno arrived at Jupiter in 2016 and has since been researching our solar system’s largest planet and its moons, learning about gas giants, and looking for the fundamental building blocks of life beyond Earth.

The image depicts Jupiter’s storms in blue and white. They appear in enormous whirling patterns, with wavy patterns forming between the circles.

Public Reaction On Jupiter Closeup Images

The photo was only shared a few hours ago and has already received over 6 lakh likes. Internet users swarmed the comments area with emojis like lovestruck and fire. While some users termed the image “stunning,” others described it as “beautiful”.

A user commented on the picture, saying, “Gorgeous.”

“Bewitchingly,” another user wrote on Instagram.

“Drops from Jupiter! The third person commented, “Incredible view, NASA.”

Jupiter is made up mostly of hydrogen and helium, with traces of other gasses. Jupiter, the fifth planet from the sun with a diameter of around 88,850 miles (143,000 kilometers), has a colorful appearance dominated by stripes and a few storms.

Juno has been orbiting Jupiter since 2016, gathering data on its atmosphere, interior structure, internal magnetic field, and the region around it caused by its internal magnetism.
