Before the swearing-in ceremony, PM Modi Modi started the day by paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat. He also visited the Sadaiv Atal Memorial and laid a wreath at the National War Memorial

Narendra Modi took oath as the Prime Minister of India for the third time at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Sunday. President Droupadi Murmu administered the Oath of Office to Narendra Modi.

Along with Modi, 71 Ministers also took oath as part of the Union Cabinet. Led by the Prime Minister, the new Team includes 30 other Cabinet Ministers, 5 Ministers of State with Independent Charge and 36 Ministers of State (MoS).

The oath ceremony was attended by several global leaders including President of Sri Lanka Ranil Wickremesinghe, President of Maldives Mohamed Muizzu, Vice-President of Seychelles Ahmed Afif, Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, Prime Minister of Nepal Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Prime Minister of Bhutan Tshering Tobgay.

Before the swearing-in ceremony, PM Modi Modi started the day by paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat. He also visited the Sadaiv Atal Memorial and laid a wreath at the National War Memorial.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged as the single-largest party in the Lok Sabha elections 2024 by securing 240 out of 543 seats. However, the party fell short of a simple majority in the Lok Sabha by 32 seats.

With the support of key allies, N Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar, whose parties won a total of 28 Lok Sabha seats, the NDA was able to cross the majority.

On Friday, the NDA Parliamentary meeting had elected Narendra Modi as the leader of the alliance, following which, he met with President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan to stake claim to form the government.

Narendra Modi, on Friday, had said that the next five years were going to be very useful for India in the global environment.

“During this tenure of 10 years, India has emerged as a Vishwabandhu for the world. Its maximum advantage is starting now. And I am sure that the next 5 years are going to be very useful for India in the global environment as well. The world is going through many crises, many tensions, disasters…we Indians are fortunate that despite so many big crises, we are today known as the world’s fastest-growing economy. We are also being praised in the world for growth,” he had said.
