Nagpur: Three people have been arrested for allegedly killing a criminal and dumping his body in a nearby river in Maharashtra’s Nagpur city. The police gave this information on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Ibrahim Khan aka Chhota Ibrahim (22) he said.
Several criminal cases including murder, attempt to murder, dacoity and assault were registered against Ibrahim in various police stations. He was also deported from Nagpur and a case was registered against him Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous Activities (MPDA) Act, a police officer said.
On Saturday, a youth had informed the police that Ibrahim had been killed by some people.
“Based on a tip-off, the police took Sonu alias Imran Ahmed Ali (25) into custody. After that, Mohd Rashid Rafad Shah (25) was called for questioning. According to the information given by him, Ibrahim’s body was recovered from Kanhan river, about 25 km from Nagpur, at around 8 pm on Saturday. Later, along with Sonu and Rashid, the police arrested Shamim Tiger Ansari (24) For killing Ibrahim. They told the police that they had killed Ibrahim on August 4 after an altercation with him and dumped his body in the river.
The three accused were produced in the court, from where they were sent to police custody till August 13.
