Nagpur: Man sentenced to life imprisonment for raping mother | Nagpur News – Times of India

NAGPUR: District and additional sessions judge AM Deshmukh on Thursday sentenced a 36-year-old man to life imprisonment after holding him guilty of raping his biological mother.
The man, a labourer, had forced himself on mother despite her pleading. The incident took place in June last year.
The offense was registered at the Wathoda police station of Nagpur city,
The court had held the accused guilty under section 376 (2) (f) of Indian penal code (IPC,
“The verdict was pronounced by the court stating the accused shall be spending his life behind the bars till his last breath as per the amendment into the provision. The court also views the case as rarest of rare,” said Addl public prosecutor Rashmi Khaparde who has examined around 10 witnesses in the case.
The case was chargesheeted under the supervision of Senior PI Wathoda Ashalata Khapre and monitored by CP Amitesh Kumar.
Police and prosecution wing had requested for a fast track court and completed the trial in little more than one month’s time.
