Nagpur girl raped, younger sister bribed Rs. 20 to remain silent

Nagpur: An incident of rape of a 9-year-old girl in the Nagpur district of Maharashtra has been reported. The incident took place on September 15, Sunday, when the parents of the girl were not present at home.

As per the police report, a girl aged nine was raped by an unknown man. At the time when the crime took place, the survivor was accompanied by her younger sister who is 5 years old. Nobody except these two girls was at home when the rapist entered the house. A sketch has been made as per the inputs given by the victim and has been released to nab the perpetrator.

Younger girl bribed to remain silent

The parents of the girl work as labourers on daily wages which is why they were not present in the house when the incident took place on Sunday. It has been reported that the rapist who has been portrayed as an unknown man, entered the house on Sunday evening. He bribed the younger sister with Rs. 20 to remain silent and not tell anyone as he did the crime.

FIR lodged under the POCSO Act

The two girls complained to their parents as they arrived, after which they rushed to the nearby police station in Nagpur. A medical test of the survivor was conducted wherein rape was confirmed. Thereupon an FIR was lodged under the POCSO Act and the sketch of the rapist has been released.

In a similar incident that took place on September 16 in Bhopal, a 3-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her school teacher. When her mother realized bruises and scars on her private parts, she rushed to the Kamala Nagar police and an FIR was lodged under the POCSO Act.
