Veteran actress Savita Bajaj, known for films like Beta Ho To Aisa, Nadiya Ke Paar, Nishant, Nazrana, is facing a major financial crunch and is currently hospitalised. The 97-year-old is currently hospitalized after complaining of breathlessness. Sinta EC member Nupur Alankar, who is taking care of the ailing actress, shared that Savita will need financial help to continue her treatment.
Nupur reveals that she is actually on oxygen support and needs urgent money as the hospital can discharge her if she cannot pay them.
But now actress Supriya Pilgaonkar has come forward to help the veteran actress by paying the hospital bills. Confirming the same, Nupur told TOI, ‘Supriya Pilgaonkar has come forward to help and some committee members of CINTAA have also helped so that we can pay some part of the hospital.’ He further said, ‘Savita Bajaj is a very self-respecting woman and only yesterday some media persons reached the hospital and gave her so much stress that she had to be shifted to the ICU.’
Savita Bajaj, who has done over 50 films, had earlier shared with ETimes, “I want someone to build an old age home for actors like me, who are on their own. Even after working for so many years, I do not have my own home in Mumbai. I live on rent in one room kitchen in Malad. I pay Rs 7,000 as rent. I didn’t want to ask for money, but now it’s going to be difficult for me to handle it. I have earned a lot, helped the needy, but today I need help. My savings have dried up. I have spent all my money on my ill health. I’ve got a serious breathing problem and don’t know how I’m going to handle it now.
