Naani to Vishnu, having the hero’s name in the title only results in a box office disaster.

The name of a film sometimes becomes a problem for the lead actors. The 2019 film ‘Vinay Vidya Ram’, which was directed by Boyapati Srinu, spelled disaster for Ram Charan as it was forced to call off with his first show.

Telugu star Akhil’s debut film also titled ‘Akhil’ was a miserable flop and one of the biggest disasters in the history of the famous Akkineni family. Apart from Akhil, Nagarjuna, the head of the family had also faced the same problem. The film titled ‘Captain Nagarjuna’ was not successful at the box office. Despite being such a huge star, the film’s failure indicated to the director that it was too risky to name a hero on the film.

Like other big Telugu stars, Megastar Chiranjeevi too learned that the box office success saved him when the film Jai Chiranjeevi was a big flop at the box office.

Manchu was a huge flop at the box office with the failure of Mohan Babu’s son Manchu Vishnu’s debut film ‘Vishnu’.

Taarak, which starred Taraknath, another actor from Nandamuri Balakrishna’s family, has also been listed as one of the biggest flops of all time.

‘Brahmanandam Drama Company’, which came under the name of star comedian Brahmanandam, also went bankrupt at the box office.

The film ‘Namo Venkatesh’, which starred the protagonist Venkatesh, however managed to do well at the box office. However, the film ‘Venky Mama’ with his nephew Naga Chaitanya went awry without any recovery.

The story does not end here. Even the films with the names of the heroes in the title failed miserably at the box office. Mahesh Babu starrer ‘Nani’, fondly known as Nani, failed miserably.

Sai Dharam Tej’s Tej.I Love You also sank without a trace, proving that the names of the heroes as in the title were indeed poison for the box office.
