Mysuru: Mysuru Preschools reopen for low attendance, enrollment | Mysuru News – Times of India

Mysore: Although the government has given permission to private schools to resume Pre KG. LKG, and UKG classes have lower enrollments and attendance at many institutions since last Monday.
According to school heads, enrollment is poor as parents are not ready to take any risk. However, attendance in government-run Anganwadi centers is good.
In many institutes only 50% of the students are attending classes. Standalone centers where only Pre KG, LKG and UKG classes are conducted are the worst affected as admissions are less and parents are reluctant to pay a huge amount as fee.
Girish Keep, the director of a preschool confirmed that the reaction is mild. According to Baga, high enrollments are being seen in schools up to class 10. “People are not ready to take any risk on the continuation of classes. Hence, standalone schools are the most affected,” he said.
According to school heads, about 70% of the enrolled students are now attending physical classes. He says this number is expected to increase further in December. “Admission and attendance in our schools is good. Some parents are still waiting for more clarity. They are expected to send their children after December.” Santosh Kumar, Mysore District Representative of Associated Management of Primary and Secondary School (KAMS).
Meanwhile, good voting is being seen in Anganwadi centers. Basavaraju, Deputy Director, Women and Development Department, Mysuru, said: “At present, Anganwadis are open between 10 am and noon. Parents are bringing their children to the centres. ,
