‘My money can be docked’: Mayank Agarwal refuses to speak on his controversial dismissal

Mayank Agarwal was shaking his head and body language from being declared LBW via DRS to reaching the Indian dressing room at Centurion. India’s opener Agarwal had done well, and looked in fine form, scoring 60 on the first day of the first Test between India and South Africa, but that decision reduced his charge.

Agarwal was caught at the crease by South African fast bowler Lungi Ngidi on a ball. As the Indian tried to pull it away, his inner edge was beaten and the ball hit his knee roll. There was a loud appeal and after some thought, South Africa captain Dean Elgar went for the DRS.

The ball seemed to the naked eye that the leg stump was missing. The tracker, however, thought otherwise as he predicted the ball to hit over the leg-stump. Naturally, Agarwal was unhappy.

However, when asked what he thought about the controversial call, the 30-year-old remained silent and said that he cannot speak on the subject as he could face fines.

“I am not allowed to voice my opinion and hence I want to leave it at that. Otherwise, I will get into bad books and my money (match fees) may be docked,” Agarwal said at the end of the day’s play on Sunday. Said after.

Agarwal had an excellent opening partnership with KL Rahul and the pair added 117 runs. Rahul went on to score a century as the tourists ended the day on a solid score of 272/3 in 90 overs.

Meanwhile, the opening session of the second day’s play got washed out due to rain.
