More than 24 hours have passed since the terrorist Ahmed Murtaza Abbasi, who attacked the Gorakhnath temple, went to jail. Since he has come to jail, he has often been spending his time sleeping. There is neither a look of fear on his face nor does he have any remorse for his actions. He doesn’t like prison bread. He asked for bread. He ate vegetables and bread. Along with this, a special brand of paste has been demanded for brushing. He is kept in the seclusion barracks.
According to the jail administration, the terrorist is very fond of bread. He is also considering the jail as ‘Jannat’. He says that jail is heaven. I have heard that tea is good in heaven, but here it is very poor, but even after giving bread, he falls asleep again after eating only one or two breads. However, on Sunday morning, Murtaza also offered Namaz after taking a bath in the jail.
At around 12:19 pm on April 16, ATS admitted Murtaza to Gorakhpur jail amid tight security.
Mortaza was sent to jail on Saturday under UAPA Act
In fact, during the remand of Ahmed Murtaza Abbasi, UP ATS has declared him a terrorist by taking action under the ‘UAPA’ Act i.e. Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. After the completion of his remand on Saturday, the ATS produced him in the court in Gorakhpur, from where the court sent him to 14 days judicial custody. At around 12:19 pm, ATS admitted Murtaza to Gorakhpur jail amid tight security.
As soon as he reached here, Murtaza first got a medical checkup in the jail and then he was put in the high security ‘solitude’ barracks of the jail. On reaching the jail, Murtaza found two blankets, a bucket, a mug, a plate, a glass and soap for everyday use, but fell asleep immediately after reaching the barracks. Murtaza is always keeping a water bottle with him and is drinking water from it.
Good tea and bread is available in ‘Jannat’
When he did not wake up till evening, the personnel under his supervision woke him up and gave him tea. Along with taking two sips of tea, he refused to drink tea and said that the tea is not good. I have heard that good tea and bread are available in ‘Jannat’. In the evening snack, he was given chuda, but he refused to eat chuda and started asking for bread.
Although during this time the workers did not give him bread, but when he got the evening meal, he refused to eat the food and demanded bread again. After this, on the orders of the officers, he was brought from the jail canteen and given bread.
Murtaza was happy to get bread, ate light food in the afternoon
Murtaza became happy as soon as he got the bread and ate 3 breads with vegetables. After that he fell asleep again. Even for the counting of prisoners in the morning, the jail administration had to struggle hard to get Murtaza up from sleep. When he was given a brush and toothpaste from the jail, Murtaza refused to use Acacia toothpaste and demanded Colgate Maxfresh Gel Paste. However, after much persuasion, he somehow brushed and drank tea and then ate two breads. However, on Sunday afternoon he ate a light meal.

According to the jailer, Mortaza is being closely monitored in the jail’s seclusion barracks. To keep a constant watch on him, the duty of 2 PAC jawans, two captive guards, two jailed prisoners and a constable have been imposed. He is constantly keeping an eye on Murtaza.
