A case of murder of two leaders has come to light in Alappuzha district of Kerala within 12 hours. A BJP leader was murdered in Alappuzha early today. Earlier on Saturday night, the leader of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) was murdered.

Police said the attack took place at the residence of advocate Ranjit Srinivas, the state secretary of BJP OBC Morcha, when he was getting ready for the morning walk. Ranjit had contested the recently held assembly elections as a BJP candidate.

SDPI leader’s bike hit by car
SDPI State Secretary KS Shan was attacked by some people on Saturday night. Shaan was returning home on his bike when a car hit him. After this he was stabbed several times with a knife. He was taken to the hospital in an injured condition, where he died.

Section 144 in force for 2 days
The police is investigating the matter. Section 144 has been imposed in the district. During traffic checking has been increased. Also, non-essential gatherings have been banned.

CM Vijayan said – strict action will be taken against the culprits
State Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has condemned the killings. He has also spoken of strict action against the culprits. Vijayan said, “Such horrific violence and inhuman act is dangerous for the state. I am sure all the killers will be caught soon.

BJP and SDPI blame each other
BJP and SDPI have blamed each other for the killings. BJP national general secretary CT Ravi accused the CPM-led Kerala government of “turning God’s country into a jihadis’ paradise”. At the same time, Union Minister V Muraleedharan has also condemned the attacks. He accused Kerala of goondaraj and said that the state was turning into a murder ground.

RSS workers accused of plotting to attack
SDPI has accused RSS workers of plotting the attack. Party chief MK Faizi tweeted, “These incidents are part of Sangh Parivar’s agenda to create communal violence and disturb harmony in the state. We condemn RSS terrorism. Kerala Police’s apathetic attitude shot for RSS. works like that.”
