Munger: Chief Minister of Bihar did on-site inspection of Mahane Weir irrigation project in Munger, orders for restoration of dilapidated project. Patna News – Times of India

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inspected the spot on Wednesday Mahane Weir Irrigation Project Situated near Katiyari village of Sangrampur block Munger District.
After the inspection, he asked the officials of the Water Resources Department (WRD) to immediately start work for the restoration of the dilapidated irrigation project, which was originally built in 1965.
With Munger MP and JD(U) National President Rajeev Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh And WRD Secretary Sanjeev Hans, CM spoke to the local villagers during the inspection and inquired about the irrigation facilities and difficulties in the area.
“I have come here to know about your difficulties. I will take necessary steps to solve your irrigation-related issues and even other problems,” Nitish told the villagers who had gathered near the Wair project .
Earlier, WRD Secretary gave detailed information about great Weir Irrigation Project to the Chief Minister
While inspecting the project, Nitish asked the officials of the Water Resources Development Department to build a small distribution network for the water coming from the command area so that the villagers can be facilitated in irrigation works. “Make such a good arrangement of water distribution that more and more farmers are benefitted and people get more facilities in irrigation works. Farmers of many nearby villages will be benefited by the restoration of Mahane Wear project.
Nitish further asked the WRD secretary to get the protection wall, boulder pitching and damaged pillars repaired of the Mahane Weir irrigation project. He also ordered necessary repairs of the super route of Belharwa-Mahan Link Canal and other things.
CM also ordered to carry out siltation work in Mahane Weir project for more storage of water.
Other key officers present during the Chief Minister’s visit to Mahane Project, Divisional Commissioner Munger, Prem Singh Meena, the CM’s secretary Anupam Kumar, Munger range DIG Pankaj Sinha, Munger DM Navin Sinha and Munger SSP Jagunatharaddi Jalaraddi.
