Mumbai Police transfers pornographic case against actor Gehna Vashisht, 3 producers to property cell

The case registered against three producers of the company of actor Gehna Vashisht and businessman and actor Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra has been handed over to the property cell of the Mumbai Police Crime Branch, informed the police on Thursday. A case has been registered at Malvani police station.

Gehana Vashisht alias Vandana Tiwari, currently out on bail, was earlier arrested in February 2021 in a pornography case. He got bail after four months. Meanwhile, probing the porn film case, the Crime Branch of Mumbai Police has found a hidden cupboard at the office of actor Shilpa Shetty’s husband and businessman Raj Kundra and JL Stream in Andheri, Mumbai during searches.

The Mumbai Crime Branch on Tuesday said that actor Shilpa Shetty is yet to be given a clean chit in the pornography racket case where her husband and businessman Raj Kundra is the prime accused.

According to officials, forensic auditors have been appointed to probe the transactions in all the accounts of those involved in the case. The officials had also mentioned that actor Sherlyn Chopra has been called to give a statement as a witness in the case.

According to sources, Raj Kundra will soon face money laundering and Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) cases against him as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) may register cases against him under these Acts.

Kundra, 45, was arrested by the Mumbai Police late on July 19 for alleged production of obscene films along with 11 others and was kept in police custody till July 23. At present, the case allegedly involves the production of pornographic films. And publishing them through some apps.

Kundra has been named as the prime conspirator by the Mumbai Police, which has framed charges against him under sections 420 (cheating), 34 (common intention), 292 and 293 (relating to obscene and obscene advertisements and display) of the Indian Penal Code. have been installed.
