If the building or wing has more than 20 per cent of the number of flats occupied by COVID-19 patients, then the entire building or a wing will be sealed.

The BMC rules further mention that the patients and contacts shall strictly follow the extant guidelines of home isolation and hygiene etiquette during home quarantine.

A patient should be isolated (in case of symptoms) for at least 10 days from the onset of symptoms/tests

The patient should not have fever for three consecutive days before coming out of isolation.

As per the new BMC guidelines, high-risk contacts will be home quarantined for seven days.

5 to 7 days or immediately if symptomatic and further protocols are followed depending on the test result.

Full care will be taken by the building management committees to ensure the supply of food, medicines and essential commodities to the families in the quarantine.

The decision to de-ceiling the building/wing may be taken at the concerned ward level.
