Mumbai fire11 people were rescued safely after a fire broke out in the premises of a 16-storey residential building in north Mumbai on Sunday. The fire control room got information about the fire at ‘Dhiraj Savera’ building in Borivali suburb at around 12.25 am.

A fire broke out in two flats on the 14th floor of the building and frightened people rushed to the 15th floor to save themselves, a fire control room official said. He said that seven fire tenders, eight jumbo tankers, ambulances and other assistance have been sent to the spot.

“Three women and eight others (residents of the flats affected by the fire) were safely rescued from the building. No one was injured,” the official said. The fire was completely brought under control around 6.30 am, he said. He said the cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained. No one was injured in the incident.
