2022 assembly elections will be the target for DGP

According to experts, 1987 batch IPS officer Mukul Goyal is second in terms of seniority. He is also on Central deputation and is presently posted as ADG BSF. His retirement is in February 2024.

Goyal has been the SP in many districts of western UP for a long time. In the SP government, he held an important post like ADG Law and Order. They have a better understanding even from the political corridors of the state to the trends of the voters. Therefore, his name is being considered almost final for the DGP.

But in the central posting, there is a big chance in front of them to become DG BSF. The third name in the seniority list was that of 1987 batch IPS officer RP Singh. Presently he is posted as DG EOW (Economic Offenses Wing) and SIT. His retirement is in February 2023. Strict actions in the investigation of big scams like Jal Nigam, food grains and bike boats have created a better image in the eyes of the government.
