While it was always on the cards, Dhoni on Tuesday gave detailed indications for the first time that he will be seen playing next season as CSK prepares to undergo a mega auction after a major transition phase.
“When it comes to farewell, you can still come and see me play for CSK and this could be my farewell game. So, you still get a chance to bid me farewell. Hopefully, we are in Chennai. Will come and play our last match. Sports over there and we can meet fans there,” Dhoni said while interacting with fans during the 75th year celebrations of ‘India Cements’.
If sources are to be believed, CSK will retain three players — captain Dhoni, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja And the brilliant opener Ruturaj Gaikwad for the next auction.
The iconic former India captain hasn’t played in Chennai as of the 2019 edition IPL It was held in the UAE and CSK played the first leg of the tournament in Mumbai earlier this year before it was suspended due to a breach in the bio-bubble.
Also, answering a fan’s query on his decision to retire from international cricket on August 15 last year, Dhoni said, “There couldn’t be a better day than this on August 15.”

Asked if he will be seen in Bollywood after retirement, he said acting is not easy and he will stick to cricket.
Dhoni said that he is not looking at Bollywood as a post-retirement stint as he believes that acting is no easy skill and he will stick to cricket.
“You know Bollywood isn’t really my cup of tea. As far as commercials are concerned, I’m happy to do them. When it comes to films, I think it’s a very tough profession. And it is very difficult to manage.
