MP| Sheopur DC and SP transferred a day after Agriculture Minister angry local people in flood affected area

Sheopur: Severe floods in Madhya Pradesh have claimed 24 lives in Chambal-Gwalior region till Sunday. Thousands of people have been shifted to safer places due to incessant rains in the state. Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar visited Sheopur on Saturday and faced an angry mob.

A day after locals threw mud on Tomar’s convoy that visited the flood-hit city, Sheopur District Collector Rakesh Srivastava and Superintendent of Police Sampat Upadhyay have been transferred till further orders.

The reason for his transfer has not been revealed yet.

When Tomar went to Karatia Bazar in the city to meet the flood victims, people made fun of him and said that he had come too late.

As he got down from his car and consoled some people, including the weeping women, his convoy followed him. Witnesses said people threw mud and small dry sticks at the vehicles.

Eyewitnesses said that people complained to Tomar that he was not alerted about the floods in time and it was a failure of the district administration.

Sheopur Superintendent of Police Sampat Upadhyay said people complained to the minister that the relief reached them late.

“But no vehicle in his convoy was damaged,” the SP said.

However, after facing an angry mob, Tomar said, “Area like Gwalior and Chambal are affected by the floods. I have met people and officials. We are trying our best to help them by providing food and clean water first.” I want to tell. Those who stand with the government, the state government and the BJP.”
