In Madhya Pradesh, a large number of cows were found dead in a cowshed in Berasia town near Bhopal on Sunday. Commenting on the death of the cow, an official said that the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Berasia, about 45 km from the state capital, has registered an FIR against the management of the gaushala on the instructions of Bhopal District Collector Avinash Lavania.

Lavania, who visited the gaushala earlier in the day, said in a statement that its management has been removed and the chief executive officer (CEO) of the janpad panchayat has been appointed as receiver, adding that an autopsy has been ordered. was given so that the cause of death could be ascertained. Lavania also directed the SDM of Berasia to take action against the Gaushala Director for not collecting the dead bodies at one place and performing the last rites as per the guidelines.

He asked the state animal husbandry department to conduct health check-up of all cows in such facilities across the district.

Digvijay Singh alleges cow bone, leather trade

Meanwhile, Congress Rajya Sabha member Digvijay Singh alleged that cow bones and leather trade was going on in this gaushala, which he claimed was by a woman BJP leader. Singh said more than 500 cows have been found dead at the facility and demanded registration of a case of cow slaughter against its directors.

“It should be probed whether women leaders of BJP were involved in the leather and bones business,” Singh said. The grant received by this cowshed should also be investigated.

When asked on Singh’s allegations, state BJP spokesperson Pankaj Chaturvedi said the former should “speak about Congress workers eating beef on the street in Kerala”.

Chaturvedi said, “The BJP is committed to the protection of cows, while Singh is only involved in doing politics over the issue. The district administration has already initiated action against the Gaushala management and further action is being taken as per law. Is.”
