Mahant Kanak Bihari Maharaj (85), who shot to fame after donating Rs 1 crore for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya, along with his disciple Vimal Babu Verma, died in an accident in Madhya Pradesh’s Sangri village.
A Hindu spiritual leader and his disciple were killed and two injured on Monday after their sports utility vehicle rammed into a divider in Madhya Pradesh’s Narsinghpur district, a police official said.
Mahant Kanak Bihari Maharaj (85), who shot to fame after donating Rs 1 crore for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya, along with his disciple Vimal Babu Verma, died in an accident in Sangri village, which is located in Ayodhya. It is about 50 kms away from. District Headquarters, Suatala police station in-charge Jyoti Dixit told PTI.
“Shishya Deen Bandhu Das (60) and the driver of the vehicle Rooplal Raghuvanshi (35) suffered serious injuries and were taken to Jabalpur for treatment. All of them were returning to Chhindwara from Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh.”
