MP government will take legal action if it fails to withdraw ‘lesbian’ Karva Chauth ad: Home Minister

Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra on Monday said he has directed the state police chief to Dabur India to withdraw an “objectionable” beauty product advertisement that showed two women celebrating Karva Chauth festival and if the ad is withdrawn. The statement comes after an advertisement for Dabur India Limited’s product Fem Cream Bleach, which featured a gay couple celebrating Karva Chauth and looking at each other through a sieve.

“I consider it a serious matter. Also because such advertisements and clippings are made only on rituals of Hindu festivals. The state home minister said that he has directed the DGP (Director General of Police) to ask the company to withdraw the advertisement. “And if it fails to do so, take legal action after examining the ad,” he added.
