Unseasonal rains and hailstorms in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh on Monday caused heavy damage to crops. In Rajasthan, it rained up to 1 inch (25MM) in many cities including Kota, Jhalawar, Chittorgarh, Rajsamand, Udaipur, which damaged wheat, gram, mustard crops in these districts. On the other hand, wheat-gram crops have been destroyed in many districts including Mandsaur, Ratlam, Rajgarh, Shajapur, Sehore, Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh.
15 days ago, when the winter season was bidding adieu, then in many states of the country, instead of spring, the summer season came directly. Maximum temperature increased in Rajasthan and Gujarat. At that time the temperature there was above normal by 9 degree Celsius. But suddenly the weather changed and it was replaced by unseasonal rains.
A tree fell on a car near Shaurya Smarak in Bhopal. Hail also fell in Lalghati and Kolar areas along with strong thunderstorms.
Fear of similar weather for two days in Rajasthan
If you look at the report issued by the Jaipur Meteorological Center and Water Resources Department, then Chechat of Kota received maximum rainfall of 25MM yesterday. Apart from Kota, thunderstorm accompanied with heavy rain occurred in many parts of Dungarpur, Banswara, Chittorgarh, Bundi, Udaipur, Jalore, Sirohi, Rajsamand, Barmer. Gram-sized hail also fell with rain in parts of Rajsamand, Chittorgarh. There is a possibility of similar weather in the state for the next two days.
Damage to rabi crops in the state
Rabi crops were damaged due to unseasonal rains, hailstorm and strong winds. The harvesting of wheat and gram crops is going on in Kota, Jhalawar, Chittorgarh, Rajsamand areas. These crops got wet due to rain and hail.
Apart from this, due to strong winds, crops fell down at many places, which increased the possibility of their damage. Here, the warning of two more days of rain and hailstorm from the Meteorological Department has increased the tension of the farmers.
In Jhalawar, after 3 pm on Monday, it rained at many places due to a sudden change in the weather. Gram-sized hail fell on the district headquarters for about 10 minutes.

The weather has changed in the state since last 3 days. Almost half of the districts of the state have been submerged in water. Hail fell with heavy rain in the capital on Monday. Maize size hail fell at many places in Mandsaur city, Mandsaur district. Here the bundles of crops were destroyed. At the same time, the leaves of the poppy crop were also broken due to being washed away in the water.
It also rained in Rajgarh, Ujjain, Chhindwara, Vidisha. Two deaths have also occurred in Shajapur and Ujjain districts due to lightning. The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of rain and hailstorm with strong thunderstorms for the next three days i.e. till March 9. According to meteorologists, there has been a trend of rain in March for the last 12 years.
Namli in Ratlam district also received hailstorm along with heavy rain.
