Motorola Solutions ties up with Gujarat University to set up Research and Innovation Center

US based motorola Solutions will set up its first Research and Innovation Center in Gujarat at Charotar University of Science and Technology (CHARUSAT) in Changa.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between CHARUSAT and Motorola on Tuesday for the establishment of CHARUSAT-Motorola Solutions Research and Innovation Center.

The collaboration aims to provide university students with practical learning opportunities, including internships, at the Motorola Solutions Innovation Center.

Motorola will also recruit students and provide the university with its expertise, specialists, cloud data center-software and a variety of facilities, while Charusat will provide the infrastructure, network, hardware, skilled students and faculty. Motorola has so far offered jobs and internships to 20 university students.

This collaboration is supported by Sanjay Patel, Senior Engineer for the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago.

The Charusat-Motorola Solutions Research and Innovation Center will have a capacity of 50 to 55 persons, three conference rooms with state-of-the-art facilities, specialized mobile desks for research and development in the fields of information technology and computers. Useful for CHARUSAT, Motorola and future generations.

During the signing of MoU Surendra Patel, Chairman of Kelavani Mandal and Charusat, CA Patel and Ashok Patel, Vice President of Kelavani Mandal, Dr. MC Patel, Secretary of matriarchal-Kelavani Mandal-CHRF, Provost Dr. RV Upadhyay and Registrar Dr. Devang Joshi were present. While a high level delegation led by Chris Patel, including officials from Motorola Solutions Company, was present.

Chris was a director of Kodiak (Motorola Solutions Company) which is now part of Motorola. A native of Charotar, Chris wanted to give back to the society and thus, conceived Kendra.

Motorola has its center in Bangalore and has now selected Charusat for its first center in Gujarat. Eventually, they have plans to expand extensively in Vadodara.
