Belagavi: A 36-year-old woman committed suicide after killing her two children in hindalaga on the outskirts of Belagavi city on Friday. The woman, along with her children, jumped into a lake near the Ganesha temple in Hindalga.
Krishna Manish Keshavani, 36, arrived at the temple in the evening on Friday with her two children – Bhavira Manish, 4, and Veeren Manish, the age of whom is yet to be ascertained. While police have recovered the bodies of Krishna and Bhavira, they are still searching for Veeren’s body. With very little light remaining in the evening, the police decided to resume the search for Veeren on Saturday.
Police said that only an investigation would reveal if the two children were pushed into the lake, or if they took the plunge under mental duress.
On the basis of available evidence, police believe that a family squabble may have prompted Krishna to take the extreme stop. Krishna and Bhavira’s bodies have been sent to the medical examiner for post-mortem.
