1. Taliban capture India’s built friendship dam in Afghanistan
The Taliban has captured 19 provinces, including Kandahar, Afghanistan’s second largest city, in 7 days. Those who fought against the Taliban are also now surrendering. The biggest name among them is the governor of Herat province and Ismail Khan, close to India. The Taliban has also captured the Afghanistan-India Friendship Dam built in 2016 with the help of India in Herat.

3. Air travel will be expensive, minimum and maximum fare limit increased
People traveling by air will now have to pay higher fares. The Civil Aviation Ministry has increased the minimum and maximum fare limits. With this, airlines can increase the fare. The minimum fare will increase by 10% and the maximum by 13%. The minimum fare for the 40-minute journey will be Rs 2,900. Earlier it was Rs 2,600. The maximum fare for this would be Rs 8,800.

The central government is preparing to link Aadhar card with voter list and voter ID card. This will help in preventing bogus voting. 6. Land slide in Himachal, river flow stopped in Lahaul Spiti

Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, popularly known as Frontier Gandhi, was given the Bharat Ratna on this day in 1987. He was the first non-Indian to be awarded India’s highest civilian honour. At the age of 20, he opened a school in his hometown, Utman Jai, which became operational within a few months, but his school was banned in 1915 by the British government. He also founded an organization named ‘Khudai Khidmatgar’ for social consciousness. This organization was founded on the inspiration of Mahatma Gandhi’s principles like non-violence and satyagraha.
