What happened in history on this day?
Today is the death anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. 76 years ago on 18 August 1945, Bose flew to Manchuria. At that time Japan had lost the Second World War. The British were after Netaji. Seeing this, he made up his mind to ask for help from Russia. After that they were not visible to anyone. Five days later, Tokyo Radio reported that Netaji’s plane crashed near Taihoku Airport. Netaji was badly burnt in this accident. He died in Sainik Hospital. Along with him the rest of the people on board were also killed.
