1. Amarinder meets Shah, BJP may offer ministerial post

Captain Amarinder Singh met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Wednesday after relinquishing the post of Punjab CM. The meeting between the two took place at Shah’s residence for about 45 minutes. There was a discussion on the peasant movement between the two. The Captain demanded the withdrawal of the new agricultural laws and guarantee of MSP. Speculations are rife that Captain may become the face of the BJP in Punjab and the party may offer him the post of a Union minister.

Senior Congressman Kapil Sibal has expressed displeasure over the ongoing crisis in the Congress government of Punjab. Sibal, who has questioned the leadership of the party, said, “Congress does not have an elected president, but the decision is being taken by someone or the other. Whether it is wrong or right… this discussion should be held in the working committee. There is a need to think about why people are leaving the party. 3. PM nutrition scheme instead of mid day meal in government schools
The Central Government has decided to start the ‘PM Poshan’ scheme for the children studying in government schools across the country. This scheme will replace mid day meal. Under this scheme, children studying in more than 11.2 lakh government schools will get free food for the day. The government has decided to spend Rs 1.31 lakh crore in the next five years under the ‘PM Poshan’ scheme.

what happened today in history
Date- 30 September 1993. Time- 3:56 am in the morning. Location- Latur in Maharashtra. People were sleeping in their homes, when the earth trembled rapidly and continued to tremble for 40 seconds. The 6.4 magnitude earthquake devastated the whole of Latur, killing 20,000 people. The epicenter of the earthquake was 12 km below the ground. When this earthquake occurred, most of the people were in deep sleep. Due to this there was a lot of loss of life and property.
