More than 900 Barodian families in Red Containment Zone. Vadodara News – Times of India

Vadodara: As the Covid-19 cases continue to rise in Vadodara city and district, more than 900 houses with a population of more than 5,000 residents in the city are now under containment (red) zone.
At the same time, about 234 houses with a population of 1,119 are in the buffer (orange) zone. Till Sunday evening, Vadodara city and district added 1,242 new Covid-19 positive cases, taking the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic to 81,111.
The results were of 9,875 samples that were tested in 24 hours from Saturday evening. On the other hand the official death toll stood at 624.
On Sunday, 302 patients were discharged taking a total of 74,085 patients since the start of the pandemic.
On the other hand, the number of active cases touched 6,402. Of these, 6,206 were in home isolation while 196 were being treated in hospitals.
Of the hospitalized patients, 10 are being treated with ventilators or BI-PAP support. While 24 patients are admitted in ICU, they do not require ventilator support. Similarly, 63 persons are being treated with oxygen support, while there are 99 such patients who are being treated as mild cases as they do not require oxygen support.
According to the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) health bulletin, the number of quarantined persons stood at 4,972.
The western region of VMC was the worst affected with 292 fresh Covid-19 cases, taking the total number of cases to 14,397. In VMC’s eastern zone, 288 cases were added, taking the total number of cases to 11,506. With the addition of 285 cases, the total number of Covid-19 cases in the northern zone touched 13,822, while the south zone recorded a total of 13,743 cases with 286 cases on Sunday.
The total number of cases in Vadodara rural stood at 27,607 adding 91 cases on Sunday. Fresh cases have been reported from Jetalpur, Bajwa, Warasiya, Diwalipura. Swad, Gotri, Chhani, Yamuna Mill, Tandlaja, Sama. Akota, Harni, Sudamapuri, Fatehpura, Ramdevnagar, Manjalpur, Bapod and Waghodia areas of the city.
