District Magistrate (Prayagraj, Sanjay Kumar Khatri He said that a much bigger festival has been planned this year as compared to the previous years and an ADM (Administration) has been appointed as the nodal officer for the event.
He further said that on the occasion of Dev Deepawali, the Sangam area would be illuminated with five lakh diyas and people from all walks of life as well as prominent personalities of the city would be present in this special event. The DM, however, clarified that the COVID-19 protocol would be strictly followed during the event.
The DM further said, “To add to the grandeur and spectacle of the event, the entire Sangam area will be divided into sectors and allotted to officials of various government departments and work will be assigned accordingly.” Apart from this, traffic and crowd management has also been taken care of for the event and visitors will be provided with signage and parking facilities. Apart from the cultural festivities, special decorations will be done on both the sides of the Ganga Aarti stage and the visitors will be able to enjoy the program through boat facility as well.
Officers of District Administration in coordination with the officials of Prayagraj Navik Sangh To provide excitement to the spectators and visitors who will be able to enjoy the spectacular view through boats after paying the reasonable price tickets. In addition, there are plans to invite renowned artists from the city as well as the country. The DM said that this event will be on the lines of Dev Deepawali Varanasi program.
The authorities are also planning to carry out special sand art work near the event and all major squares and squares in the city will also be illuminated. A senior official said, “There are plans to make arrangements to allow tourists to watch the event along the river where they will be taken by boats. This year we are ensuring that new events are organized. Ganga Aarti will also be grand but we will also ensure that the people present in the program strictly follow the COVID-19 protocol. The Dev Deepawali festival is celebrated in the state which falls 15 days after the Diwali festival and falls on the full moon night of the month of Kartik according to the Hindu calendar.
