LUDHIANA: Over 30 people were charred by firecrackers while celebrating Diwali in Ludhiana on Thursday night, out of which at least three suffered serious burns.
A CMCH official said, “Out of the 12 scorched patients in the hospital, six had eye injuries. Nine people have received minor injuries and three have received serious injuries.”
Dr Rajinder Mittal, head of the Department of Plastic Surgery and Burn Unit at DMCH, said, “Out of the eight burn injury cases we found on Diwali, five had hands and three on the face, including one with an eye injury. All were discharged after treatment.”
“We found seven patients with minor to moderate burns on Diwali,” said Dr Baldeep Singh of a hospital in Model Town.
