The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that the monsoon reached Maharashtra on Saturday after a delay of two days from the expected date of its arrival. It said that the southwest monsoon has covered the central parts of the state and the Konkan region.
“The southwest monsoon has arrived in parts of Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra. It will bring some rain to the state and some areas of Konkan. Areas which are likely to receive heavy rains have also been put on alert,” the official said. Has gone.” ,
He said that the conditions are favorable for further advance of Monsoon into Maharashtra for the next 48 hours.
“If the conditions remain favourable, the monsoon system will move further,” he said.
