Monsoon may reach Delhi today: Orange alert issued in the capital, chances of rain for 3 days, relief from heat

The people of Delhi are likely to get relief from the scorching heat soon. The Meteorological Department has forecast that there will be light to moderate rains in different parts of the capital in the next three days. During this time the wind speed can remain up to 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. In view of this, an orange alert has been issued by the Meteorological Department. Light to moderate rain is also expected on Friday and Saturday.

Although the date line for the arrival of monsoon in Delhi is June 27, but due to westerly winds, the monsoon is likely to reach here late. According to the Meteorological Department, monsoon is likely to arrive in Delhi by June 30 or July 1.

On Wednesday, in some parts of Delhi, people had to face scorching heat. The temperature in some parts of the capital was recorded above 40 degrees. Safdarjung recorded a maximum temperature of 40.9 degrees Celsius, which is four degrees above normal. Whereas, the minimum temperature was 28.8 degrees Celsius, which is one degree above normal. Whereas, in areas like Najafgarh and Zafarpur of Delhi, the mercury remained above 42 degree Celsius.

Orange and yellow alert in half of MP including Bhopal
Monsoon has started becoming active again in Madhya Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has issued orange and yellow alert of heavy rain in more than half of the state including Bhopal on Thursday. According to the forecast, there is a yellow alert for rain in some districts of Malwa, Nimar including the areas of Bhopal, Narmadapuram, Gwalior and Chambal divisions. While an orange alert has been issued for heavy rains in Rewa, Sidhi, Satna, Singrauli, Umaria, Anuppur, Shahdol, Chhindwara, Balaghat, Chhatarpur and Niwari.

Meteorologist PK Saha said that an East-West trough has formed. Moisture is coming from Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal. Its effect has already started. In the last 24 hours, more than 25 districts of the state including Vidisha, Chhindwara received rain on Wednesday.

Chance of rain for two days in Surat, Gujarat
The city received half to two inches of rain in different areas on Wednesday. The maximum 2 inches of rain fell in the Sarthana zone. The Meteorological Department has predicted light rain for the next two days. According to the Meteorological Department, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 32 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 26.3 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.

Monsoon entry in Rajasthan today
In Jaipur, it rained heavily in the eastern part on Wednesday, while people remained troubled due to humidity in the western part. There was heavy rain in the south-eastern districts including Kota, Bundi, Bhilwara, Tonk, Jhalawar. According to the Meteorological Department, an alert of heavy rain has been issued in 8 districts including Jaipur on Thursday.

The Meteorological Department believes that it is pre-monsoon only. Monsoon will enter on Thursday and there may be heavy to very heavy rains in Alwar, Bharatpur, Dholpur, Dausa, Jaipur, Karauli, Sawai Madhopur, Tonk districts for 3 days. Earlier, in the last 24 hours, 40 to 80 mm of rain was recorded in Kota, Bundi, Bhilwara, Tonk, Jhalawar.

Bihar receives 254 percent more rain than normal
The rain system remained active in all parts of Bihar on Wednesday. During this, Bihar recorded 254 per cent more rainfall than normal. The normal rainfall in Bihar was 10.7 mm, which increased to 37.9 mm on Wednesday. Patna recorded 4.4 mm of rain. However, many districts of Bihar have recorded 55% less rainfall so far. Araria district has received maximum rainfall, which is 976% more than normal. Araria recorded 134.5 mm of rain. Whereas, the average rainfall here is 12.5 mm.

Here, the Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of heavy rain, thunderstorms in the areas around Patna. Patna recorded a maximum temperature of 28.2 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 26.2 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. On Thursday, the maximum temperature is expected to be 32 degrees and the minimum temperature is 26 degrees.
