Mohammad Asif clicked with Yuvraj Singh at a cricket tournament in United States of America, pictures go viral

They are fierce rivals on the field and can often engage in heated verbal duels, but other than that, players usually share a healthy relationship with each other. One such instance came to the fore on May 30 when former cricketers Yuvraj Singh and Mohammad Asif were seen together during a tournament in USA.

Both were participating in the second season of the Unity Cup tournament held in Virginia. Former Pakistan cricketer Asif was also seen giving some instructions to the young cricketers.

Asif shared a photo of himself standing next to Yuvraj during the event. “Friendship knows no boundaries. #YuvrajSingh #ICC #USA #dc #unitycup2022,” he wrote in the caption.

In Test cricket, Asif played 23 matches and took 106 wickets. He made his Test debut in 2005 playing against Australia in Sydney Cricket field.

On the other hand, in ODIs, Asif played 38 matches for Pakistan and took 46 wickets. In the shortest format of the game, the 39-year-old pacer featured in 11 matches and took 13 wickets.

But after being found guilty of spot-fixing, the career of this promising Pakistan fast bowler came to an end prematurely with a big blemish.

Asif is believed to have deliberately bowled a no-ball in a Test match and was later banned from all forms of cricket. The suspension eventually proved to be a fatal blow to his career as the right-arm pacer failed to regain his old form.

On the other hand, former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj went on to have a storied career playing key roles in helping his team win two matches. World Cup title.

In the 2011 ODI World Cup, Yuvraj delivered a brilliant all-rounder performance to help the Indian team win the title at home. The southpaw scored 362 runs and was also his side’s second highest wicket-taker in the quadrennial event. He took 15 wickets from the tournament.

Yuvraj was given the Player of the Tournament award for his stellar performance.
