Mohamed Salah of Liverpool celebrates after scoring the first goal during an English Premier League soccer match between Leeds United and Liverpool at Leeds Road in Leeds, England, on Sunday, 12 September.

Mohamed Salah scored his 100th Premier League goal and Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott suffered a serious ankle injury on Sunday to guide Liverpool on their way to a 3-0 win over Leeds.

Salah converted a cross at land Road in the 20th minute by Trent Alexander-Arnold and became the 30th player to reach the milestone, with only four going faster than the Egyptian winger’s 162 appearances.

Fabinho scored a corner second in the 50th and Sadio Mane scored the third in stoppage time, giving Liverpool an unbeaten start after four games. The Reds have 10 points with Chelsea and Manchester United, one more than defending champions Manchester City.

Liverpool are set to be without Elliott for quite some time, however, after hurting his left ankle after a tackle by Leeds substitute Pascal Struijk, which earned the defender a red card in the 60th minute.

The 18-year-old midfielder was in great pain and Salah immediately asked Liverpool’s medical staff to come on the field and treat Elliot, who was eventually unloaded on a stretcher while receiving oxygen.
