MLA gave land worth Rs 5 crore for Lord Parashuram’s temple. Kanpur News – Times of India

Kanpur: With the 2022 assembly elections approaching, politics has once again heated up in the state. Rival political parties eyeing Brahmin votes are invoking the name of ‘Bhagwan Shree Parashuram’, a mythological figure considered a Brahmin icon. Now, a BJP Legislator Land worth Rs 5 crore has been donated to build a temple of Lord Parashuram in Kanpur Dehat, where a 20 feet high statue of the Lord will be installed.
Earlier, the Samajwadi Party (SP) had announced plans to set up the tallest statue of Lord Parashuram, who is revered by many Hindus, especially Brahmins, in Lucknow’s Janeshwar Mishra Park.
Now Pratibha Shukla, a BJP MLA from Akbarpur-Rania assembly constituency of Kanpur Dehat, has donated land worth Rs 5 crore to a trust to build a world class temple of ‘Lord Shri Parashuram’ in Kanpur Dehat district.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by Ramji Mishra, the personal secretary of the MLA, it was said, ‘A 20 feet high statue of Lord Shri Parashuram will be installed in the temple premises.
She is the wife of former MP Anil Shukla Warsi.
Warsi represented the 14th Lok Sabha in 2007 after winning a by-election from Bilhaur constituency on a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) ticket. Thereafter, he contested the election to the 16th Lok Sabha from Akbarpur constituency on a BSP ticket in the 2014 general election, but lost.
In 2015, he resigned from the BSP and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with wife Pratibha Shukla.
Former MP Warisi said, ‘A land worth Rs 5 crore has been donated to Bhagwan Shree Parashuram Nyas in Khanchandrapur Khadanja of Rania. A world class grand temple of ‘Lord Shri Parashuram’ will be built here.
Meanwhile, Pratibha Shukla said, “Brahmins come from the enlightened class. Where the interests of all are protected, there the Brahmin goes.
When asked about Lord Parashuram’s temple, she said, “My husband (Anil Shukla Warsi), who is also the chairman of Parashuram Mandir Trust, had taken a pledge to build the temple in 2018 itself. Due to lack of people’s cooperation, the temple was built. The construction could not take place.Now, we are donating our land for the temple where 20 feet idol of Lord Shree Parashuram will be installed.
According to Rishabh, the chief trustee of Bhagwan Shree Parashuram Nyas, ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ for the construction of the temple will be done on July 26.
“Eleven Acharyas will worship the land by chanting the Vedas. The ritual will begin on July 26 at around 11 am.
The map and design of temple construction has been prepared.
The Chief Trustee further said that the Chief Mahant of Gouraiyapur Ashram Desh Narayan is likely to participate in the ‘Bhoomi-Poojan’ ceremony.
Lord Sri Parashurama is described in some versions of the Mahabharata as an angry Brahmin, who killed a large number of Kshatriya warriors with his ax because they were abusing their power.
