The much awaited event among Minecrafters, Minecraft Live 2021, was held on 16 October. The event holds significance as it promotes the latest Minecraft news and product launches and also bridges the Minecraft community around the world.
At the event, the popular gaming chair maker, Secret Lab, announced its group with Stockholm-based video game developer and father of Minecraft, Mojang Studios, to present an official Minecraft-based gaming chair.
“Pickaxe out! Survive the night with the Secret Lab TITAN Evo 2022 Minecraft Edition chair or create your own world. The only creeper you want by your side,” read the statement on the Secret Lab’s official website.
The chair, based on the current Titan Evo 2022, Minecraft version, was based around a mythical mob character named The Creeper. In addition to the green façade that houses the chair, it also has a pixelated figure on the chair next to the Secret Lab logo. According to Windows Central, the chair will be available for interested buyers in three different sizes, i.e., small, regular and XL.
Secret Lab has been in the gaming chair manufacturing game for a while now. The chairs designed and manufactured by the company are backed by scientific research that ensures the best seating posture for those long gaming sessions. TITAN Evo 2022, on which the Minecraft version is based, is a collection of two of the best series of chairs offered by Secret Lab, ie, OMEGA and TITAN.
Minecraft was created by Markus ‘Notch’ Persson with a 3D sandbox concept in mind that required the skills of creativity, problem-solving, and speed. Persson planted the seeds in a studio that became Mojang Studios. The studio was bought by Microsoft in 2014 for $2.5 billion.
The deal came as a surprise to many as the previous two ventures – Nokia and Skype – which were acquired by Microsoft – did not turn out to be as profitable as expected.
