Microsoft Windows 11’s first developer beta is now live: Here’s what changed from the leaked beta – Times of India

as promised, Microsoft Has started releasing recently announced initial builds windows 11 Operating System via the Insider Dev Channel. The latest release has Windows 11 OS build 22200.51.
Although it is quite buggy, it has many of the new features, changes and enhancements that the beta leaked from weeks ago brought over.

Coming back to the new developer builds of Microsoft Windows 11, here are some of the major changes that we noticed.
new lockscreen
Microsoft has updated the lockscreen with the date and time in the center with rounded corners around the buttons and the power menu in the lower right corner.

start menu
The start menu is more or less the same from the leaked build. However, in the latest builds Microsoft has added a refresh option for the Recommended section.

Hover feature in taskbar
In the taskbar, Microsoft has added a new hover menu, which is similar to the long press feature. Android and iOS devices. Hover your mouse over an icon and it will present you with several options.

Updated Action Center
The Action Center in Windows 11 now has two parts. One part is for notification and other details and the other part is for quick toggle again similar to mobile operating system. Clicking on the date and time in the taskbar brings up the notification panel, and clicking on the battery and volume area opens the quick toggle buttons.

New Context Menu for Desktop and file explorer
To make it more suitable for touch based systems, Microsoft has added a new context menu with more spacing between options and the opticians themselves have changed. They look higher priority than before and are also easier to use. In File Explorer, the context menu now shows the copy/paste icon at the top, with some changes to the menu options.
New User Interface for File Explorer
In File Explorer, Microsoft has abandoned the ribbon user interface and opted for a very clean button based design which again looks nice and clean and is also optimized for touch based systems.

new settings app
The latest developer builds of Windows 11 also get a brand new Settings app. Almost everything has changed here, from the setting layout to the features. Your phone is now under Bluetooth Settings, similarly, the System page shows important details along with some essential options.

Microsoft shop app
The Microsoft Store app has also changed from the leaked version. The Store looks more like a continuation of Windows 11’s overall UX design. It is well prepared and feels like a bigger store than Windows 10. Now, the Android app feature is still missing. But, this being an early build, we cannot expect much.
