A statement from Platini, who previously served as president of UEFA and was Infantino’s boss at the time, was released on Tuesday.

Platini’s lawyers said he filed the complaint alleging he influenced Infantino in France and was in collusion with FIFA’s legal director Marco Viliger until 2018.

Platini called for international cooperation from French prosecutors to interrogate Infantino, Viliger and four others from Switzerland, including former Attorney General Michel Lauber.

The criminal complaint was filed on 17 November, two weeks after Platini was indicted in Switzerland along with former FIFA president Sepp Blatter on charges of fraud. The case pertains to a 2011 payment of 2 million Swiss francs (then $2 million) to Platini, which led to both men being banned from football in 2015. Infantino was elected FIFA president a few weeks later.

Blatter and Platini are expected to face trial in Switzerland’s federal criminal court this year.
