Vaughan tweeted, “Pakistan is awesome to watch.. Gone from the local village team to look like a world champ in a week…!! Love watching them.”

Ian Bishop wrote, “Shaheed Shah Afridi every day of the week and on Sundays. Well done Pakistan. It was fun to watch. The atmosphere of the crowd was unreal.”

In the meantime, here’s what fans have to say:

As far as the match is concerned, a blistering 150-run stand in 15 overs between Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan sealed Pakistan’s 31-run win over England in the first Twenty20 on Friday at Trent Bridge.

Captain Azam scored 85 off 49 balls and Rizwan scored 41 runs to add 63 runs in Pakistan’s total record of 232-6.

England lost four wickets in the first seven overs, and their hopes were only dashed thanks to Liam Livingstone, who scored a career-best 103. But he was the seventh man in the 17th over and England were soon all out for 201 with four balls to spare.

The senior England star returned from self-isolation but failed to copy the second match he achieved against Pakistan in the One Day International series.
