The Indian team for the T20 World Cup 2021 has been in the news since the resumption of the second leg of the Indian Premier League 14 in the UAE. Some of the players who could not make it to the final list have performed brilliantly, suggesting that the selection of the T20 World Cup squad should be reconsidered on the basis of current form. The BCCI may make amendments by October 10 and there have been reports of selectors considering some changes, but there is no confirmation yet. Now, sharing his opinion on team selection, former England captain Michael Vaughan has said that the newly appointed Team India mentor M S Dhoni might ask Virat Kohli and Ravi Shashtri to include Shardul Thakur’s name in the team.

Shardul, who plays alongside Dhoni for Chennai Super Kings, is part of India’s reserve player list for the T20 World Cup and has displayed good form in the ongoing IPL. Vaughan’s comments are shown in a cricbuzz Video after Shardul’s scintillating performance in the CSK vs Delhi Capitals match on Monday.

The former English captain believed that Shardul could be a great asset to the team at the global event.
