facing intense scrutiny over users’ data privacy, meta Introduced a Privacy Center to its family of apps to educate billions of users. Currently available to a limited number of people using Facebook on desktop in the US, the Privacy Center is expected to educate people about their privacy options and make it easier to understand what Meta (previously Facebookcollects and uses the information. The social network said on Friday that it will be rolling it out to more people and apps in the coming months.
“We have built many privacy and security controls into our apps and technologies over the years, and we aim for Privacy Center to serve as a center for those controls and privacy education,” Meta said in a statement. The current version of the Privacy Center has five modules: Security, Sharing, Archiving, Usage and Advertising. Those who have access to this early launch can find the Privacy Center on the desktop version of Facebook by navigating to Settings and Privacy.
“As we expand the Privacy Center, we’ll be adding more ways to access it in places where you may have privacy concerns,” Meta said.
