The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday released the list of the hottest cities in the country. In which Alwar of Rajasthan was the hottest. The temperature here was 45.8 degree Celsius. On the other hand, mercury crossed the 44 mark in about 17 cities of Saurashtra, Gujarat, Vidarbha, Maharashtra, Marathwada, West Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Punjab and Jharkhand.

If we talk about the heat of last year, then the Meteorological Department had predicted the maximum temperature to be between 36 and 41 degrees on 8 April 2021. However, due to intermittent rains, the maximum temperature could not even reach 40 and there was respite from the heat.

Delhi in the grip of heat wave
Parts of the national capital have been in the grip of heat wave since last week with maximum temperatures hovering above 40 degrees Celsius. The IMD said that the heat wave is likely to intensify further. The maximum temperature of Safdarjung Observatory may touch 42 degree Celsius on Saturday. However, there may be some respite from the scorching heat due to cloudy sky from Tuesday.

Orange alert in 10 cities of Rajasthan
Jaipur Meteorological Center has issued a heat wave alert in the state till April 11. Apart from Barmer, Sriganganagar, Jaisalmer, Orange alert has been issued for these cities while issuing a warning of heat wave in Banswara, Baran, Dungarpur, Sawai Madhopur, Tonk, Jhunjhunu, Bundi and Kota.

Mercury will cross 44 in 6 districts of Uttar Pradesh
In Uttar Pradesh, the heat wave is scaring the people. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of severe heat in the state till April 12. In the first week of April itself, the mercury has crossed 40 degrees in many other cities including Lucknow, Meerut, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Gorakhpur. In Meerut on Thursday, the heat broke the record of the last 42 years. The maximum temperature recorded here was 39.4 degree Celsius.

Alert issued in 7 districts of Bihar
The maximum temperature has crossed 40 degrees in most of the cities of the state. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in 7 districts of the state and has forecast a rise in temperature by 4 degrees in the next 3 days. In the northern parts of the state, east and south east wind is blowing up to 0.9 km above the surface. Its speed is 6 to 8 km per hour. Due to this, the weather will remain dry for the next 5 days.

The effect of heat will be less in Chhattisgarh
Like every time, this time too Bilaspur is getting more hot in April. But the temperature was recorded at 40.4 degrees on April 7. In other cities, the mercury remained below 40 degrees. There is a possibility of light rain or thundershower at one or two places in South Chhattisgarh.
