But since then, the BJP government has not made many efforts to take this project forward,” he said.
“Sixty-six tmc feet of water which is being wasted will be stored in the reservoir and used for drinking purposes and power generation. Thirty percent of the citizens of Bengaluru do not have proper drinking water supply. Other regional will also benefit,” explained Shivakumar.
“The water dispute between Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu came to an end in 2018 after the Supreme Court ruling. It was decided that Karnataka should release 177 TMC feet of water to Tamil Nadu. “Besides there is no scope for objection as per law in Tamil Nadu,” he said.
