Mehul Choksi lands in Antigua and Barbuda after getting bail in Dominica – Times of India

New Delhi: Diamond Mehul Choksi have landed in Antigua and Barbuda, where he has been living since 2018 after leaving India, after 51 days of detention in neighboring Dominica for illegal entry, which his lawyers claim was a kidnapping plan, local media reported.

Choksi, wanted in India’s Rs 13,500-crore bank fraud case, went mysteriously missing on May 23 from Antigua and Barbuda, where he has been living as a citizen since 2018.
He was detained in the neighboring island of Dominica for illegal entry after a possible romantic getaway with his rumored girlfriend.
His lawyers alleged that he was kidnapped from Antigua’s Jolly Harbor on May 23 by Antigua and Indian-looking policemen and brought to Dominica on a boat.
