Former Chief Minister and PDP President Mehbooba Mufti wrote on Twitter on Thursday that she has been placed under house arrest.
Mufti said party leaders Suhail Bukhari and Najmu Saqib have been arrested.
“Re-arrested and PDP @SAAQQIIB & @Suhail_Bukhari also arrested,” Mehbooba tweeted.
“His story was based on lies to evade accountability from the beginning. They don’t want to be held accountable for their actions and hence they are suppressing voices that speak out against such injustice and atrocities,” she added.
The Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday ordered a magisterial inquiry into the Hyderpora encounter in which police said four people, including a Pakistani terrorist and his accomplice, were killed.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said in a tweet that appropriate action would be taken in a time bound manner after the submission of the report.
The families of Altaf Ahmed and Mudassir Gul, who were killed during the encounter, maintain that they had no involvement in terrorism and demanded that the bodies of both be returned to them.
