In a major setback to Congress in Meghalaya, Bajop Pangroop, MDC of Rambrai Zirangam of Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), along with 19 other office-bearers and members of Rambrai Jirangam constituency, resigned from the party.
The mass resignations have reportedly started due to infighting and alleged corruption in the party.
Pyegrop is set to join the National People’s Party (NPP) on March 31.
With PineGroop joining in, the stage is set for suspended Congress MLA Kimfa Sidney Marabaniang, who may join the NPP in the coming days.
